Damn you, Sarah. This is the biggest guilty pleasure at-work time waster ever. This is who I have winning it all, but the tournament wasn’t without its extremely hard decisions.
I too have Veronika winning! Although it has become more and more apparent that in order to win I should have followed the Andrew Pile-gorithm: anyone wearing a belt as a shirt will probably come out on top.
The New Deal - Gone, Gone, Gone
The New Deal just posted a show at Bowery Ballroom (LES) on May 24th.. whos in? i bought 4 tix, 2 are accounted for, they’re 30 bones. if you cant tell from this tune, their shows are fucking ridiculous.
I CANNOT WAIT for this concert. We saw them last year and it was easily one of, if not THE, most fun concert I’ve ever been to.
I want to punch anyone who would even consider buying or using a “drum table” in the face.
I can 100% say, based on the happenings of one particular weekend last summer, that Sam Reich (backed by many friends) would consider, nay, SERIOUSLY consider purchasing and using this.
This also makes me want to post some intensely awesome/embarrassing videos from aforementioned weekend.
This post is a petition for Patrick Cassels to start a tumblr. If you’re with me, reblog.
I had to pass like three pages of reblogs just to find this original post. Give it up, Cassels! The tribe of tumblr has spoken.
“It’s truly awesome how in recent years, CollegeHumor has birthed its own stable of talent. If the Internet’s not buzzing about the CH founders, it’s talking about you guys or the Prank War or Moberg or the latest video on CHTV. CH/CV is creating and defining our collective web experience as well as our culture in a number of different ways. Has that been the business plan all along?”
That’s a question that was asked in an interview Jake and Amir did on The Apiary today. I smiled a big smile when I read that. Years ago, when people asked me what my long term goals were for CH, I told them two things. First, that I wanted to make CollegeHumor the dominant comedy brand for young males for the web, tv, film, books, and live tours. And second, that I wanted to create a “stable of talent” that would write, act in, produce, and direct all that stuff. To see that phrase used independently in a description of CollegeHumor is awesome.
I’m so fucking proud of everybody in that “stable” and what we’re accomplishing.
This is why I’m excited to come to work everyday. Ricky for President!
NBC’s Friday Night Lights will, indeed, be returning for a third season, according to series star Kyle Chandler.
I recorded an interview with Chandler yesterday for an upcoming edition of NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross, and Chandler confirmed that a deal to spread costs and continue the series had been struck. All that was left, he said Wednesday, was to “dot the i’s and cross the t’s.” He was scheduled, and planning, to report back to Austin in June, he said, to start filming season three on location.
