the women in my life are funnier than the men. maybe men have been in the humor game for too long, and our sensibilities are becoming a little meta. but i find women to be generally more free and shameless as well as more in tune with subtlety. with men, there’s a sense of “making a joke,” whereas with women there’s more of the pure ability to be funny.
obviously all that now stands in the way of the woman’s comedy movement is men, who are comedy’s biggest audience.

A smart and insightful post from my friend Sam. I’ve had more conversations based on these sentiments than I can count (many of which with Sam’s unbelievably funny girlf Elaine). Thankfully for us girls, there are people like Sam, who can appreciate comedy for comedy’s sake, regardless of gender. I’m excited to see where we can take it.
